WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Senior Director, Platform Product Manager at RBCx is in a pivotal leadership role, responsible for defining and executing the strategic vision and roadmap for the RBCx portfolio company platform, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and market needs. This individual will drive the platform''s development, scaling, and enhancement, focusing on operational efficiencies, compliance, security, and seamless integration of third-party services. They will work with cross-functional teams, foster innovation, and maintain the platform''s competitive edge through a deep understanding of API governance and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) software. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in product management within growth-stage or public companies, outstanding leadership skills, and a strategic mindset geared toward fostering operational excellence and efficiency.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Strategic Platform Leadership: Define and execute the product roadmap for the RBCx platform services, aligning with the company’s strategic goals and market opportunities.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and architects to ensure seamless development, deployment, and scaling of platform services.
Third-Party Integrations: Lead the integration of third-party services and tools to enhance platform functionality and user experience, managing relationships with external partners.
Compliance and Security: Ensure all platform services adhere to industry-leading standards for compliance and security, particularly in highly regulated markets.
Scalable B2B and B2B2C Infrastructure: Oversee the scaling of our B2B infrastructure to support growth, optimizing for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
API Governance: Define, develop, and deploy and enforce best practices for API design, documentation, and governance to foster a robust ecosystem in partnership with the architecture team and the RBCx Enterprise partners.
Customer-Centric Innovation: Drive product innovation based on in-depth market analysis, internal/external customer feedback, and emerging technology trends.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
Educational Background: BSc Computer Science, Math, Physics or BEng Engineering with an MBA or MSc in Engineering, Math, or Computer Science.
Product Leadership Experience: 15+ years in product management, with at least ten years focused on platform or SaaS products or services. Proven track record of leading product teams and successfully launching and scaling digital products in private growth-stage or public companies.
Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of API governance, platform architecture, and cloud technologies. Experience with developing and managing PaaS or similar cloud-based services.
Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire cross-functional teams towards achieving shared goals.
Strategic Thinking: Exceptional strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to turn insights into actionable product strategies.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders including executive leadership.
Nice-to-have:
Compliance and Security: Knowledge of regulatory environments and best practices in data security, particularly in the financial services sector.
Financial Services and Banking Standards: Well-versed with banking industry, credit card, and privacy standards such as OSFI, FCAC, PIPEDA, PCI, DSS, PII, and HIPAA.
